The Whirled image editor is an in-browser raster graphics editor.

Creating New Images

Image size popup.

For many item types, you can use the "Paint a new image" button when you want to Create Your Own in your stuff tab.

After you click on the button, you'll get a small popup asking you what size you want your image to be. This is also where you can select a fill color (see the tips below about colors) if you want the background already filled in with a color before you start; with this option, using the eraser will still allow you to create transparent areas. Leaving transparent will just give you a blank, transparent background to start with.

Editing Your Image

Here are some image editing tips:

  • Your selected image size will be outlined with a dashed line. Anything you draw outside of the specified border will not be saved.
  • You can select different tools by clicking on the buttons with the icons. The current tool will be highlighted as light blue.
  • For the brush, you can select one of the colors in the popup or you can type in your own hexadecimal code for the specific color that you want to use. A number of websites have charts of colors with their hexadecimal codes, so you can easily Google and find one to use.
  • The eyedropper lets you change the brush to the same color as whatever you click on.
