Only .SWF files can be uploaded as avatars in Whirled. If you would like to wear a static image as an avatar (because who doesn't want to wander around as a LOLcat sometimes?), you should consider purchasing the inexpensive [http://www.whirled.com/#shop-l_5_1609 Easy Image Avatar] and using the [[remixable item|Remix]] option to add your static image to it.
